Bio

My name is Akullu Lydia Felly, currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Communication at Makerere University. I am a creative, talented multiskilled student journalist, committed to fact checking, solutions storytelling, sound research, truth and broadly any journalistic related content. I am an award-winning English news anchor with the Media Challenge Initiative (MCI). This earned me a spot in the media challenge fellowship. I work for the Daily Monitor Publications and I have published a couple of newsletter stories for the media house in question. Journalism has informed my interest in leadership. Leadership for me is not associating myself with a certain political party but being able to make a difference and create hope for those that have lost it. As a journalist, I am a leader and through storytelling, I do not get to change just a single life but the entire world. I believe solutions journalism is a strong weapon to achieve my leadership ambitions. Africa has been given a dark face world over and if the next generation of media practitioners embrace more solutions storytelling, the world will be a better place. I enjoy reading a couple of blogs and so into watching movies during my free time.
